Old Faithful, faithfully spewing.

Yellowstone is revered as on of the best national parks in the US, and it did not disappoint. We spent all of Sunday weaving through the park, stopping to see sights and letting some of the sights stop us (a traffic jam caused by a bison).  The park closes in about a week so there were minimal crowds plus the benefit of fall foliage and many active animals preparing for winter (bison, deer, elk, bears, and one porcupine).  While we saw most of the big-ticket items that are situated so you can just drive up to them, I definitely want to get back for a more extensive camping trip to explore the interior.

One of the Painted Pots (brightly colored geothermal pools).

The Lower Falls (over 300 ft tall).

My favorite Yellowstone attraction, the Grand Canyon.

A bear!

Weaving bison causes traffic jam.
